1. Charter Questions

What’s included in the charter?

The charter includes:

  • VAT and All Risk and RC insurance
  • Welcome aperitif
  • Tender (dinghy)
  • Crew (captain, chef, and sailor for Bali 5.4; captain and hostess for Dufour Catamaran 48)

What does the Comfort Pack include?

The mandatory Comfort Pack includes:

  • Crew (captain, chef, and sailor for Bali 5.4; captain and hostess for Dufour Catamaran 48)
  • Final cleaning
  • Courtesy set
  • Bed and bath linen (2 changes per week)
  • Beach towels
  • Internet WIFI

How does booking and payment work?

  • 50% deposit upon booking confirmation
  • 50% balance + any additional services 30 days before the charter
  • An advance payment called APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) is required for extra costs (ports, provisioning, fuel, etc.). APA must be paid before boarding and will be used to stock the boat. At the end of the charter, a detailed breakdown of expenses will be provided. If the funds are insufficient, the customer will need to top them up during the cruise. Any unused funds will be refunded at the end of the charter.

Can I book for just one day or a weekend?

  • High season: Charters are available only for full weeks (Saturday to Saturday).
  • Low season: You can book for a single day or weekend.

What payment methods are accepted?

  • Bank transfer
  • Credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express)

2. Crew Questions

Who makes up the crew?

  • Bali 5.4: Captain, chef, and sailor
  • Dufour Catamaran 48: Captain and hostess

What is the role of the Captain?

The Captain, qualified and holding all the necessary certifications, is responsible for the safety of the boat and guests. They organize the itinerary, supervise the crew’s activities, and manage all the details of the charter.

What does the chef do on board?

The chef prepares meals based on the customer’s preferences, sourcing the best local ingredients. They also handle provisioning and meal preparation.

What does the sailor do?

The sailor assists the Captain with onboard operations and handles daily cleaning tasks on the boat.

3. Itinerary Questions

Can I choose the itinerary?

Yes, the itinerary is agreed upon with the Captain before departure. The Captain will be happy to suggest the best routes, but all details can be personalized based on your preferences, taking into account weather conditions.

Where can we go during the charter?

Possible itineraries include the Amalfi Coast, Cilento Coast, Aeolian Islands, and other picturesque locations in Southern Italy. During the charter, the Captain will guide you to explore the natural and cultural wonders of the region.

4. Fuel and Extra Costs Management

How is fuel consumption managed?

Fuel consumption is charged based on the engine and generator hours used during the charter. At the end of the cruise, a detailed breakdown of the fuel consumption will be provided.

What is the APA and how does it work?

APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) is an advance payment for extra costs during the cruise (fuel, ports, provisioning, etc.). The customer must pay the APA before boarding, and it will be used for provisioning the boat. At the end of the charter, a detailed breakdown of expenses will be provided, and any unused funds will be refunded.

5. Onboard Comfort and Amenities Questions

What does it mean to sleep at anchor in a bay?

Sleeping at anchor means mooring the boat in a sheltered bay away from the coastline. The catamaran is equipped with a generator and water desalinator to ensure a comfortable stay away from the port. However, it’s recommended to sleep in port for a few nights during the week to fully recharge the batteries and give the crew a rest.

What amenities can I expect onboard?

Onboard, you’ll find all the comforts for a pleasant stay:

  • Comfortable cabins with high-quality bedding
  • Private bathrooms with a courtesy set
  • Free Wi-Fi (if available)
  • Air conditioning and heating (if included)
  • Sound system for music in the cabin and on deck
  • Fully equipped kitchen for preparing fresh, local dishes

6. Safety and Support Questions

Is it safe to sail?

Yes, safety is our priority. All boats are equipped with the latest safety devices, including life jackets, life rafts, fire extinguishers, and other essential tools. The Captain is experienced and trained to manage any emergency situation.

What happens if I get sick during the vacation?

If you get sick during the charter, the crew is always ready to assist. The Captain can navigate towards the nearest port for medical assistance if necessary. Be sure to have adequate health insurance for the duration of your charter.

What documents do I need to bring?

Please bring:

  • A valid ID or passport
  • European Health Insurance Card or travel insurance policy
  • Swimwear, sunglasses, and sunscreen
  • Comfortable, casual clothing for sailing

7. Excursion and Activity Questions

Can I organize excursions during the charter?

Yes, excursions can be arranged based on the itinerary and your preferences. You can go snorkeling, take walks on remote islands, or visit historical and cultural sites.

Are water sports equipment available?

The catamaran is equipped with a variety of water toys, such as kayaks, paddleboards, snorkeling gear, and other aquatic activities. Additional packages are available for certain water sports and should be booked in advance.

8. Food and Drink Questions

What kind of food is prepared onboard?

The chef prepares fresh, local dishes, based on the customer’s preferences. The menu includes fresh fish, pasta, local fruits and vegetables, Mediterranean dishes, and homemade desserts.

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

You can bring your own food and drinks onboard, but the chef will handle provisioning according to your preferences. Alcoholic beverages are provided based on request and the itinerary.
