An Ideal Starting Point for Cruises

The Ortigia marina is the perfect base for those wishing to explore Eastern Sicily and the Mediterranean. From here, it’s easy to embark on a journey to discover the Catania Coast, the island of Capo Passero, and the Vendicari Nature Reserve, all easily reachable by catamaran. Additionally, the proximity to the Archaeological Park of Neapolis and other historical sites offers the opportunity to combine sailing with culture, making stops at iconic Sicilian locations.

A maritime city by vocation, beautiful and luminous, Syracuse stands out for its unique blend of Ancient Greek ruins, Roman Imperial remains, and Sicilian Baroque. The city expresses this special combination through the brightness of its places and the stone used in its architecture. As soon as you disembark, you’ll find yourself close to the ancient ruins of the Temple of Apollo, just a few hundred meters from Piazza Duomo, where the stunning Baroque façade of the Cathedral rises. This cathedral was built on the ancient Temple of Minerva, which still retains its intact columns. Nearby, you’ll see the Church of Santa Lucia alla Badia, notable for the simplicity of its beautiful façade, and the Palazzo del Senato, a splendid example of late Baroque designed by Vermexio.

In its Greek Theatre, which you can see in the lower-left image, Syracuse hosts cycles of classical tragedies. This is a fantastic opportunity to attend one-of-a-kind performances during your stay.
